Andrew J.McNamara, rider of Abolitionist, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lost his hind legs and slipped up independently on the run into the dip on the first circuit.

D.N. Russell, rider of Lough Roe Lady trained by Philip M. Byrne, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a few mistakes during this race.

The Stewards received a report from Mr P.L. Malone, Starter, in relation to the first false start to this race. He stated there was a malfunction with the starting mechanism which resulted in the tape failing to release.
